In a 1982 article Carl Blanton recalled,
"One time a private plane crashed in the Ohio River in the
Jeffersonville area. John Enlow and Denny Ehringer were on the fuel
flat. Denny called me from the phone on the shop barge. He told me what
happened and ask me to get some help. The first thing I did was call
the M/V HUGH C BLASHE. The pilot (of the BLASKE) went up the river to
see If he could find the plane, and I called the police and the Coast
Guard."
